School is out! We are so happy! We can run and jump and play and sleep in!  Well, if you consider 7:00 am sleeping in. It has been great to have some freedom in our schedule, although our summer is quickly filling up!

After playing soccer, Kendra fished the school year by trying a new spring sport; track and field.  For her grade level (3rd grade) they ease them into the sport with just 3 practices then 1 track meet. She sure gave it her all, but I think quickly realized that soccer is more her “thing”. Travis and I just chuckle and are supportive and proud of anything our kids try.

Bryce decided to play baseball again. Last year he played tee-ball, but this year he was barely old enough to play with the big kids and the pitching machine. It was exciting to watch him progress. And it always makes for a fun time as the parents and grandparents watch their kids learn the fundamentals of the sport. We cheer them on and try to yell out the correct plays while the boy stands there with a blank look on his face not knowing exactly where to throw the ball!

I was able to go with both the kids on their school field trips. Kendra’s class went to the Wildlife Refuge which is actually just 10 minutes from our house. It was amazing to see all the wildlife among the sagebrush and swamps. We saw a beaver dam, deer, muskrats, frogs, and ALL kinds of beautiful birds including hawks, Canadian geese, red and blue winged black birds, cow birds, stilt birds, ducks, and many more that I don’t know the names of! God’s creation is beautiful.

Bryce’s class went to the local organic dairy, which we had been to before, but this time were able to go “behind the scenes”.  All the kids got to give the calves bottles, milk the mama cows, see where the milk is pasteurized, and where the certified raw milk is packaged. Then we ate brownies with fresh milk!

We have made 2 trips to Spokane. One weekend Grandma took Kendra and Wade so I could stay here and have a relaxing and fun Birthday. Travis and Bryce were out of town too, so my sister, mom and dad took me out to get pedicures (well my dad didn’t join us for that part). Then we went to the movies, shopping and dinner.

Travis and Bryce were at a team roping Bible clinic in Redmond, Oregon. They had a great time roping, fellowshipping and having Bible studies. Needless to say that got Bryce’s “roping juices” flowing and is now starting to rope live cattle!

Travis has been invited back to Harlingen, TX (where he went in January). He will be speaking at a youth retreat and various nearby churches. We are excited for this trip and know that the Lord will bless those with open hearts. Please be in prayer with us as he travels and ministers June 26th – July 3rd

With love,

Jennifer
